Super easy set change to make Christmas time feel a little more fun.
1. 33 12 foot strands of warm led christmas lights (although the cords are green they’re dark enough to look black in our dark ceiling) which were $1.60 each from Wal-Mart.

2. We ran all of the lights to several extension cords and ran an heavy duty extension cord back through the ceiling to our control booth at the back of our auditorium so there are not dmx controls to these lights, they just plug in and stay on the entire duration of our service.

3. We bought dozens of boxes from Uline (the boxes were $.91 each and were 12 inches by 12 inches. We took all of our cues on this one from:

We lit the boxes with 16 Chauvet COLORdash Batten TRI

At the end of it all we underestimated the cost and time of hanging the lights from our ceiling beams and did not consider the shadow that is placed on the stage subjects when the Source fours shine through the hanging Christmas lights. For week two we had to raise the lights up about 16 inches to miss the shadows.

Here is a simple video we did to try to get our crowd intrigued in our new stage design.  Having the church staff involved made it even more fun.
